Welcome to 5th Grade at Wildomar Elementary. We are excited to work together as a team to provide focused instruction for your child. To meet this goal, we will be rotating student groups between teachers who are specializing in particular subject areas. Mr. Seymour will be teaching math and P.E. Ms. Duplessis will be Expository texts and science. Mrs. Currell will be teaching reading and social studies. Mrs. Flores will be teaching grammar, geography, AR and ipads.
Please have your child here on time. The bell rings at 7:55 a.m. Thank you for helping to keep classroom interruptions to a minimum and helping our students to stay focused and on task.
We care about all of our students, and it is important to us that they feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn in our classrooms. We believe all students can behave appropriately in our classrooms. The quality of your child's education is directly related to the amount of time we can spend teaching. No one in the class may take our right to teach or the other students’ right to learn. In order to ensure your child, and all the students in our classroom, have the excellent learning climate they deserve, we are utilizing the following Discipline Plan.
Class Rules and Expectations
Be respectful to all adults and each other.
Come prepared to learn. For example, homework, notebook, workbooks, sharpened pencils, etc.
You are responsible for you own learning.
Don’t bug others.
If a student breaks a rule, the follow consequences will be used:
1st consequence - Warning
2nd consequence – No recess
3rd consequence – No Friday Fun
4th consequence – All of the above and sent to the principal
*Severe behavior difficulties will be referred to principal immediately.
** Students who are continually disruptive or do not complete homework or class work in a reasonable amount of time may have their desk moved away from their team, loose recess and/or Friday Fun, and/or be given a time out in another room to complete their work.
It is in your child’s best interest that we work together. We are looking forward to sharing the many exciting and rewarding activities that we have planned for our classes with you at Back to School Night on ________________________. Together, we can help your child have a terrific year with much success!
